By gdall @ 4:53 AM :: 191 Views :: 0 Comments ::

Stuart Maxwell, Shukokia Karate, is attempting to get Iain to the Centre to conduct a seminar later in the year (12th Oct). If Stuart is successful in this I would envisage that the seminar will be well attended so register your interest as soon as possible when the date is confirmed.

Iain Abernethy?

Iain Abernethy has been involved in the martial arts since childhood. Iain holds the rank of 5th Dan with both the British Combat Association (one of the world's leading groups for close-quarter combat, self-protection and practical martial arts) and Karate England (the official governing body for Karate in England). Iain regularly writes for the UK’s leading martial arts magazines and he is a member of the "Combat Hall of Fame".

As one of the UK’s leading exponents of applied karate, Iain has written a number of critically acclaimed books on the practical application of traditional martial arts and is well known for his work on the pragmatic use of the techniques and concepts recorded in the traditional kata.

2006                          2008

Work within  the Centre will continue as funds are made available.

So with the help of the Clubs and their students I see no reason why the Centre cannot become the best martial art facility in Fife.

Councillor Visits Centre.
By gdall @ 12:01 AM :: 75 Views :: 0 Comments ::

Cllr Ross Vettraino visited the Centre on Tuesday 29th January 2008 and was impressed with what the Charity was trying to acheive.

After discissions with members of the committee Cllr Vettraino now understands the difficulties they have in raising funds to carry out essential work within the Centre. He stated that he would assist the charity in any way that he could.

Cllr Vettraino stayed for some time watching the kids train and talking to their parents. He also voiced any interest in returning to the Centre to watch Club competions and present prizes.

Upgrade of Dojo's
By gdall @ 12:20 AM :: 65 Views :: 0 Comments ::

The upgrade of dojo two has been completed and it is looking great. A false ceiling has been put in and this has made a huge impact in retaining the heat within the dojo. The walls have been painted and new ceiling lights have been installed and this has brighted the place up.

DOjo 2b.JPG

Work has started on the false ceiling within dojo one.

This work has had a huge cost implication on the Centre and a programme of fund raising has been put in place which requires the support of all within the Centre.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT.
